AkzoNobel painting a brighter future for youth in the North East
AkzoNobel India, the peeps behind Dulux paints, just hit a major milestone with their Project Revive. This dope initiative has been levelling up the lives of over 800 young legends who’ve kicked drugs to the curb in Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Started in Manipur back in December 2021, Project Revive teamed up with the local government and Makers Foundation to give vulnerable youth some serious skills in decorative painting. After crushing the training, these champs got job offers as pro painters. Plus, they kept the support rolling for 90 days to help them stay on track.
Now, thanks to the success in Manipur, the project is spreading its wings. In 2023, it hit Assam, and in 2024, it’s coming to Arunachal Pradesh, helping 840 more young heroes find their way.
Rohit Totla, the big boss at AkzoNobel India, said, We’re giving these youth the skills to unlock a fresh start and build their confidence. Every second trainee is now thriving as a pro painter, inspiring others to break free from the cycle of dependency.
Vijay is a 25-year-old from Assam who battled addiction for a decade. After his third stint in rehab, he decided to take charge and enrolled in the painting course. Now, he’s a skilled painter and a total inspiration.
And let’s not forget Devajit and Thoiba, who went from trainees to trainers, helping others believe they can also “paint” a brighter future.
To top it all off, AkzoNobel India just snagged a Special Mention at the 2nd North East CSR Award 2024 for their epic work with Project Revive. They’re all about making a real impact in the North East.
