Rubamin, Distil team up to drop next level zinc tech in America’s beauty scene

The global specialty chemicals world just got a serious glow-up. India-based Rubamin Private Limited and R&D-driven platform Distil have officially teamed up in a strategic partnership to scale high-performance Zinc derivatives for the North American personal care market basically levelling up ingredients used in sunscreen, cosmetics and OTC pharma.

Under the deal, Distil will act as the exclusive co-development, marketing and distribution partner for Rubamin’s advanced Zinc Oxide powders, dispersions, and derivatives across the United States and Canada. The collab blends Rubamin’s heavy manufacturing muscle built over nearly four decades with more than 50,000 tons of annual production capacity with Distil’s application-focused R&D and global supply-chain distribution game.

In simple terms: India’s chemistry expertise is linking up with North America’s beauty and healthcare demand to deliver cleaner, safer, and high-performance ingredients for the next generation of personal care products.

Rubamin chairman Atul Dalmia said the partnership reflects the company’s ‘Power of Zero’ philosophy meaning innovation that creates value while keeping environmental impact minimal. By teaming with Distil, Rubamin aims to push its high-purity, sustainably sourced Zinc derivatives deeper into the sophisticated North American market.

Meanwhile, Distil’s co-founder and CEO Atanu Agarrwal called the deal a big milestone for the platform’s mission to reinvent specialty chemical manufacturing. The partnership will help global brands access safe, high-performance ingredients with transparency, IP protection and supply-chain visibility basically the holy grail for modern consumer brands.

Rubamin’s VP Commercial Ankur Shah added that routing all North American demand through Distil will ensure customers get top-tier technical support, regulatory compliance and smooth logistics, while also helping build a more circular and sustainable supply chain.

From the formulation side, Distil’s Head of Personal Care Kiro Rizk emphasized that Zinc Oxide is a core ingredient in modern sunscreen tech, especially as brands chase higher SPF performance with transparent textures and stable formulations. Rubamin’s advanced particle engineering and ultra-low impurity profiles make it easier for personal care brands to hit those demanding performance and aesthetic targets.

Bottom line: this India-to-North America collab is basically chemistry going global, bringing high-tech Zinc ingredients into the beauty and healthcare supply chain and if the demand for clean, effective skincare keeps booming, this partnership could be a serious power move in the industry.
