India’s General Election is going down, and it’s making major waves

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is all about transparency, right? They’ve got this dope tradition of hosting international delegates to peep their election game. This time around, they’ve got a massive squad of 75 delegates repping 23 different countries. That’s huge.

The event kicked off in New Delhi, and guess who was there? CEC Rajiv Kumar, holding it down. He was joined by ECs Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.

CEC Rajiv Kumar was all about that big talk, saying how India’s election scene is straight-up legendary. He was like, India’s democratic vibe is major worldwide. And you know what? Dude ain’t wrong! India’s election game is on point, generating what he calls ‘democratic surpluses’. That’s some serious respect, right there.

He also dropped some knowledge bombs, talking about how in India, registering to vote ain’t mandatory. It’s all about that persuasion game, getting people hyped to join the electoral roll and then actually vote. And you know what’s the real deal? The turnout at elections and how packed the electoral rolls are. That’s what proves India’s election game is legit.

And check this out: India’s election hustle is HUGE. With a mind-blowing 970 million peeps ready to vote, and over 15 million election squad members at over 1 million Polling Stations all over the country. That’s cray-cray diversity.

Now, here’s the real dope part: The international squad is gonna split up and hit six different states – Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh – to peep the polls and how everything’s getting ready. It’s gonna be lit.

And yo, on the side, the Election Commission also had some chill time with the Chief Election Commissioners of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Nepal, along with their squads.

This year’s squad is the biggest yet, with peeps from 23 different countries, including Bhutan, Mongolia, Australia, Madagascar, and more. Plus, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and some media teams from Bhutan and Israel are in on the action too.

This whole program is gonna be on fire till May 9th, 2024. It’s all about showing off India’s election game and sharing those best practices with the world. It’s gonna be epic.
